How to delete your account

Last updated: April 22, 2026

1. Delete from Settings (fastest)

  1. Sign in at iranian-students.org/connect/login.
  2. Go to Settings Account tab.
  3. Scroll to Delete account at the bottom.
  4. Click Delete my account…, confirm the warning, then enter your current password.
  5. Your account is deleted immediately. You are signed out and cannot sign back in.

2. What gets deleted

  • Your account record is marked deleted and your session is invalidated.
  • You can no longer sign in with that email or username.
  • Your profile is hidden from directories, chapters, and member search.
  • New content cannot be posted under your account.

3. What may remain

Posts, comments, and messages you authored may remain in conversations you participated in so that threads stay readable for other members. They may be attributed to your former username. If you want those removed too, see section 5 below.

Aggregated, non-identifying statistics (e.g. total post counts per chapter) may be retained indefinitely.

4. If you only want a break

Use Settings AccountDeactivate instead. Your profile and posts are hidden, but your data stays intact. Sign in any time to reactivate automatically.

5. Full data removal request

If you want all authored content permanently deleted (not just your account), or if you cannot sign in (e.g. lost access to your email), email privacy@iranian-students.org from the email address on file. Include the username or email of the account you want removed. We will complete full removal within 30 days and reply to confirm.

6. Third-party connections

Deleting your ISA account does not automatically revoke authorization you granted at third-party identity providers (Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, Telegram, X). To fully revoke, also remove the ISAapp from that provider's security / connected-apps settings.
